2012 (Me 57) Monday
Day after what would have been mums 85th birthday get a text from her bank saying 'to get a balance on her account txt BAL now to this number'.  First marketing text I’ve had from them since setting up the phone balance reminder about 18 months ago and she died last March.  Account was closed about last May.

1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Wednesday
Mum – Hair 9.15.  Changed tights at Debenhams and bought four more pairs. Bought material to make her evening pants £2.47½.  Cotton and zip 18p.  Saints 2-0
Me – Got first pay packet for Esso.  Take home £67 not too good for month.  I owe £52.  Very tired.  Dave Turner came to do CPU.  Ken had day off.  Mum & Dad made Hilarys trousers.

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Thursday
Mum – Rang Molly [her stepmother].  Spent morning shopping had lunch at Northlands and tea in Tyrells met Elizabeth who is expecting a baby in May.
Me – In morn had basketball for P.T In maths did some revision.  For art ? up pot and started record cover.  Had dinner in Northlands with Mum, Dad.  In afternoon didn’t do much.  Dad got me new pair of shoes and trousers.  Bugs got boots.  Saw Sportsnight with Coleman.

1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Tuesday
Mum – Did a good mornings work cleared the music room and cooked stew.  Nick & Gary played golf and then came to lunch.  Paid papers £4.37½ .  
Me – Had day off very sunny morn had 18 hole with Nick, he did 118 I did 170.  Nice stew for dinner.  Decided to get an 8-track cartridge, cheap one.  Ali beat Frazier yesterday 12 rounds.  Good fight.

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Wednesday
Mum – Had coffee with Bella in the afternoon.  Sally going to Ashurst to Phylis Smith took her freesias.
Me – In morn had English & Maths both good.  After break had Jones for Phys-Chem.  After dinner had French, Latin, Div[inity].  Had great game of football lost.  Salley left to friends in Brnmth.  Nick went back to his room.  Very nervous about Saints away to A Villa LOST 2-1

1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Monday
Mum – Did washing and did devilled kidneys for lunch met Hilary from school and saw guinea-pigs
Me – Went in at 8.15.  Not bad day.  Rained again.  Bugs went to school the GB [Girls Brigade].  Nick popped over in evening.  Playing golf tomorrow.

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Tuesday
Mum – Had my hair set, took ring to Parkhouse & Wyatt got soaked walking back to the car.  W.W 10st 6lb 16th week.
Me – In morn Bugs & I went to school Nick & Dad went to school [?] Mum and Sally went out.   In afternoon Salley made a choclate sponge.  Had last lesson off because of Masters meeting.  I played Courtney at home lost 3-1.  Refed match Corry (A) v (D) 5-4 to (A).  Mum lost 5lbs in Weight Watched she has got a badge to goal weigh made speech

1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Sunday
Mum – Took Gary & Hilary in afternoon to Botley and walked down to the Hamble river.Bill & Betty came in the evening about ? [holiday]
Me – Went in with Ken at 8.00.  Worked till 9.20.  In afternoon had walk with Mum & Dad and Hil at Botley.  Popped round Nicks in evening.  His tele broke down.  Very rainy.

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Monday
Mum – Took the magazines round this afternoon and went to Pictures in the evening.  Hilary had a skating lesson. [Mum used to deliver the church magazines]
Me – In morn went to school.  Had ernie for Bilg.  At dinner heard draw for next round of cup.  Us or Aston Villa away to Spurs.  In afternoon didn’t do much.  Watched tele listened to The Navy Lark [Would have been series 10 of 15, recorded between 1959 and 1977]

2012 (Me 57) Thursday
Worked just me and Barb, Trish was not fully serviceable (her words not mine).  Barbs car Olive has also died (head gasket for the second time).  That’s our cat Rosie, Leahs dog Rosie and Barbs car Olive all in the space of 7 days.  Leah said Olive will be driving up in heaven with the two Rosie’s in the back.  I said our cat didn’t like cars (only went out to vets in it) but Barb said it would be ok as she’s have her seat belt on.  In evening me and RB went up Saxon for DRINK! FEK! ARSE! I had Cheeseburger and chips she always (well nearly always has Smothered Chicken with Salad and Chips.  Fancy smothering a chicken to death seems very inhumane.  Tip for pet owners – take your pet out for drives then they wouldn’t associate going out in the car with the vets.

1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Saturday
Mum – Went to match Bolton shouldn’t have drawn the game as we were 3-1 up with about 12 mins from the end but Bolton scored 2 quick goals.
Me – In morn got up at 7.00.  Went to work.  Only worked till 9.00 then finished.  Saints 3 Bolton W 3
(4th Rd FA Cup).  Had drinks with Mart & Pete Labrum

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Sunday
Mum – Went to church at 9.15.  Left early for Bournemouth with Nick, Judy & Sally.  Nicky had driving lesson on the way.
Me – In morn Mum & Sally went to church.  I did H.W.  After dinner Mum, Dad, Bugs, Nick, Judy & Chloe went to Bournemouth.  I bought Nicks record player off him for £3+mine.  In evening saw The Saint

1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Friday
Christian Barnard transplants 1st human heart without removal of old
Mum – Scholls 10.0AM
Me – Got up about 10.10. still tired though.  Worked 2 – 7.30 then went up Bassett with Ken had couple of pints .  Watched tele.  Bugs went swimming sold out for football tomorrow.
[2011 - The Bassett Pub was where there is now a huge McCarthy & Stone old folks place in Burgess Road.  It had a huge car park at the back and the pub itself was large with a veranda running along the rear.  There was a stuffed bear in a glass case stood on the decking outside.  They also had those 1d fruit machines which I loved to play when I was a kid where the metal ball went round and round then fell into one of about 6 channels only one gave a prize probably  I remember playing Chigago 25 or 624 as I knew it.  The only Chicago song I liked, bloody great though. The first video is them as older but still kicks the second is the record and has really cool tight brass]

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Saturday
Mum –  Went to town to see Val & Peter had tea at Bourne & Hollingsworth and bussed back through football crowds.
Me – In morn played with J Courtney beat him 5-4 away [Subbuteo presumably].  After dinner saw Saints 2 Aston Villa 2 replay on Wednesday.  Mum, Sally, Bugs went to see Val & Peter of Blue Peter but missed them.  In evening saw film with Chris and Stevies.  Mum & Dad went out to Dinner.
