short time – there’s still poverty and war though, some things never change]
1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Sunday
Mum
– Took Gary & Hilary in afternoon to Botley and walked down to the Hamble
river.Bill & Betty came in the evening about ? [holiday]
Me
– Went in with Ken at 8.00. Worked till
9.20. In afternoon had walk with Mum
& Dad and Hil at Botley. Popped
round Nicks in evening. His tele broke
down. Very rainy.
1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Monday
Mum
– Took the magazines round this afternoon and went to Pictures in the
evening. Hilary had a skating lesson.

Me
– In morn went to school. Had ernie for
Bilg. At dinner heard draw for next
round of cup. Us or Aston Villa away to
Spurs. In afternoon didn’t do much. Watched tele listened to The
Navy Lark
