– Got up about 10.10. still tired though.
Worked 2 – 7.30 then went up Bassett with Ken had couple of pints . Watched tele.
Bugs went swimming sold out for football tomorrow.

- The Bassett Pub was where there is now a huge McCarthy & Stone old folks
place in Burgess Road. It had a huge car
park at the back and the pub itself was large with a veranda running along the
rear. There was a stuffed bear in a
glass case stood on the decking outside.
They also had those 1d fruit machines which I loved to play when I was a
kid where the metal ball went round and round then fell into one of about 6
channels only one gave a prize probably
I remember playing Chigago 25 or 624 as I knew it. The only Chicago song I liked, bloody great
though. The first video is them as older but still kicks the second is the record and
has really cool tight brass]
1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Saturday

– Went to town to see Val & Peter
had tea at Bourne & Hollingsworth and bussed back through football crowds.
Me
– In morn played with J Courtney beat him 5-4 away [Subbuteo presumably]. After dinner saw Saints 2 Aston Villa 2
replay on Wednesday. Mum, Sally, Bugs
went to see Val & Peter of
Blue Peter
but missed them. In evening saw film
with Chris and Stevies. Mum & Dad
went out to Dinner.
