1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Wednesday
Mum – Hair 9.15.  Changed tights at Debenhams and bought four more pairs. Bought material to make her evening pants £2.47½.  Cotton and zip 18p.  Saints 2-0
Me – Got first pay packet for Esso.  Take home £67 not too good for month.  I owe £52.  Very tired.  Dave Turner came to do CPU.  Ken had day off.  Mum & Dad made Hilarys trousers.

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Thursday
Mum – Rang Molly [her stepmother].  Spent morning shopping had lunch at Northlands and tea in Tyrells met Elizabeth who is expecting a baby in May.
Me – In morn had basketball for P.T In maths did some revision.  For art ? up pot and started record cover.  Had dinner in Northlands with Mum, Dad.  In afternoon didn’t do much.  Dad got me new pair of shoes and trousers.  Bugs got boots.  Saw Sportsnight with Coleman.

State funeral of Winston Churchill
Mum – none
Me – no football Did not go to petes Soton got kicked out of Party Cup [FA Cup? Lost away to Crystal Palace]

Preface gives Objects, Structure of the Guild and hints from NUTG advisors on starting up Drama, Music, Social Studies and Arts and Crafts Groups
During the above years mum was looking after myself, my sister 8 years younger and brother 13

1965 (10) Letts School-Boys Diary
Still at Infant/Primary School. Diary quite comprehensive giving facts on First Aid, Atomic Energy, 34 question quiz, books to read (none of which I’ve ever read), Pets, Countries of the World, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Animal Facts, Finding your way by the Sun, in fact a whole mini-book in itself.
