8th January

Diaries across the generations from 1965, 1969 and 1974

1974 (Mum 47/ Me 19) Tuesday
Mum –Health & Beauty.  Hilary went back to school.  Gary birthday.  Dennis out this evening.  Hilary sick.
Me – 19 today got dressing gown off M & Dad. And few letters not bad day. Got up at 6.45. N&J&A popped over in evening. Letter & tape off to elton. Dad had lodge in evening. Good day.

1969 (Mum 42/ Me 14) Wedsnesday
Mum - none
Me –My Birthday 14 years old.  Got £3 from mum and dad and £2 from relations.  Ernie wasn't here for Maths had Thomas.  For phys-Chem had Turner the Groovy. Rained. In afternoon had free-period for latin. In evening saw Saints 2 Oxford 0.  Terry [Paine] got two beauties. Sold only a few progs 3s 9d [I used to sell programmes at the Dell got paid AND saw the game for free!]

Me - my birthday got £2 5shi for birthday no football

Preface gives Objects, Structure of the Guild and hints from NUTG advisors on starting up Drama, Music, Social Studies and Arts and Crafts Groups
During the above years mum was looking after myself, my sister 8 years younger and brother 13

Still at Infant/Primary School.  Diary quite comprehensive giving facts on First Aid, Atomic Energy, 34 question quiz, books to read (none of which I’ve ever read), Pets, Countries of the World, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Animal Facts, Finding your way by the Sun, in fact a whole mini-book in itself.

1969 (14) Dataday Diary Gives Mileage Chart, Sun & Moon settings and phases, Wine vintage chart, clothing sizes, conversion tables and car details
