1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Monday
Mum – Went to Wyn Hicks for the evening Margaret bought me home.
Me – Got up at 8.45 took trs back to Gemini to get lengthened.  Went to Stockbridge to get 1800 [Austin] with dad.  Killed pheasant on the way back.  Worked late shift 2 – 10.00.  Card reader jammed, tired.  [our computer room had chain printers, card reader, where you stacked in about 12 -18 inches of program cards at a time, floor standing tapes and disk drives etc, at this time it would have probably been the IBM 360 mainframe]

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Tuesday
Mum – New Year Party.  Went to St.Michaels Hall with Sally
Me – In morn got to school at 8.30.  Had French revision.  Micky [Mason - teacher] wasn’t here for P.T so had Luther did Basketball.  Ernie [psycho Maths teacher] gave us a test and wasn’t very pleased. At dinner SALLY came.  In afternoon had bilg and English which we looked at some books in the commemoration room.  Mum went to W.W lost 2 ¾ she is now 10st 11lbs.   Bugs got some new gloves.

Mum – none
Me – Got MkII weather Station.  Had man with trumpet he played some tunes.

Preface gives Objects, Structure of the Guild and hints from NUTG advisors on starting up Drama, Music, Social Studies and Arts and Crafts Groups
During the above years mum was looking after myself, my sister 8 years younger and brother 13

1965 (10) Letts School-Boys Diary
Still at Infant/Primary School. Diary quite comprehensive giving facts on First Aid, Atomic Energy, 34 question quiz, books to read (none of which I’ve ever read), Pets, Countries of the World, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Animal Facts, Finding your way by the Sun, in fact a whole mini-book in itself.
