1946 Dolly Rebecca Parton born, Sevierville Tn, country singer (Dolly, 9 to 5)
1937 Millionaire Howard Hughes sets transcontinental air record (7h28m25s)
1927 British government decides to send troops to China


1974 (Mum 46/ Me 19) Saturday
Mum – Very good match. [Home QPR 2-2 Saints then in Div1- equivalent to todays premiership]   
Dr ? came to see house at 4.30
Me – In morn didn’t do much.  Picked up trousers in afternoon.  In evening went out with Mart in Minivan got in scrape and dented side of it.  Nothing Serious.

1969 (Mum 41/ Me 14) Sunday
Mum – none
Me – In morn did H.W. Did Maths & English.  Nick wrote letters to relatives.  After dinner played football.  Mum, Dad, Bugs & Chloe went to Highcliffe.  In evening watched the Saint.  Listened to I’m Sorry I’ll read that again

Mum – Blood Donor  The Chantry Hall.  Flower arrangement [at church]
Me – Went to school did recorder practice  handiwork painted model Tanker

Preface gives Objects, Structure of the Guild and hints from NUTG advisors on starting up Drama, Music, Social Studies and Arts and Crafts Groups
During the above years mum was looking after myself, my sister 8 years younger and brother 13

Still at Infant/Primary School.  Diary quite comprehensive giving facts on First Aid, Atomic Energy, 34 question quiz, books to read (none of which I’ve ever read), Pets, Countries of the World, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Animal Facts, Finding your way by the Sun, in fact a whole mini-book in itself.

1969 (14) Dataday Diary Gives Mileage Chart, Sun & Moon settings and phases, Wine vintage chart, clothing sizes, conversion tables and car details
