29th December

2011

Mumsie & Me is a new blog - starting 29th December 2011.

The idea came to me since my mothers death last March: St.Pats Day March 17th 2011 to be precise.
She was born in 1927 and over the years kept a diary, similarly I kept one when I was a kid in the 60's and have kept various bits and pieces with dates ever since. Don't expect Samuel Pepys here, when I was 6 years old I might just have said "It's been raining today!"

I'm going to fill in what I find of interest in both diaries plus any known family happenings and maybe to give it some relevance in the great scheme of life, what happened that day in history.

I'm not necessarily going to write a blog every day but I'll keep what I've written and then add days to it next year and so on.  It will hopefully become clear to you (and me) as the years progress.

Although I've called this blog Mumsie & Me, I've since decided to add Dad as well!  So since he was born on May the 9th, 1921 then we'll see him being born come May time.

Until I try it I have no way of knowing if this is going to make any sense so here goes, and although the blog will run on a loop Jan 1st to Dec 31st covering every year on one day, as this  blog today is being written on 29th Dec 2011 here's wishing everyone a Happy & Healthy 2012 xx
